Redeem is a 2d/3d Hybrid game centered around cherishing your life, and making the most of your time on Earth. The main protagonist wasted many opportunities on Earth and was sent to the underworld. The king of the underworld made a deal stating that if the main protagonist defeats the seven deadly sins one by one, he'll be sent back to Earth where he can start a new life. Will our hero rise to the challenge?
Level design sketch
This is one of the temples for the seven deadly sins, which houses gluttony. Each room is numbered with a specific niche/ use, such as #1 being used to teach the player basic movement such as walking in 8 different directions. The premise is that gluttony is trapped behind a gate, which can be opened with 4 switches that are hidden in 4 different rooms. Once all four switches are pulled, then you'll be able to fight gluttony in the main area (#9). Here is the list if you want to read it:
1. Teaches movement
2. Teaches dodge/ roll mechanic
3. Teaches attack
4. Basic enemy spawn
5. ramp (not used within sketch/ was later scrapped)
6. Start/ end area (brings you back to hub world level once completed)
7. teaches switch opening mechanic (for boss fight)
8. Door opening sequence (could still be used in the future)
9. Boss fight (sleeping until the gate opens)

2D Sprite Character movement
My goal was to implement sprite-based characters in a 3D-like environment. Both PS4 controllers and keyboards are compatible. I implemented an attack command when pressing the "P" button on your keyboard and the circle button on a PS4 controller. The same applies to the roll command but you'd use the space bar and the square button on a PS4 controller. My goal is to create the level a bit more, as I only have a floor plan.
